On behalf of all the priests and seminarians of the Fraternity of St.Peter working and studying in North America, I thank you for your generous support to the Fraternity for 2011.
The Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter perseveres always in expanding the work we do in service of the Church. This fall, Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary accepted 22 new men into formation, 19 second-year men received Tonsure and the cassock, and a large number received Minor Orders. The future is thus bright as we look forward to the ordinations of many new Fraternity priests in the years to come.
We are greatly encouraged by the many blessings we have received in support of our mission, and God sustains our work through the numerous benefactors who bring our work to fruition. We pray for His continued assistance as we joyfully toil in the yoke He has chosen to lay upon us. May God bless you with peace and joy for your prayers and support. Please be assured of the prayers of our priests and seminarians for you and your intentions.
In Corde Iesu, per Mariam,
Fr. Gregory Pendergraft, F.S.S.P.
Director of Development

This article from Fr. Zuhlsdorf on the training of seminarians…
During an ordination, someone must stand up in front of the ordaining bishop and attest that seminarians are properly formed and educated and suitable for ordination.
However, seminarians of the Latin Church are not being trained in the whole of the Roman Rite. According to the Church’s law, the Roman Rite has two forms. How many seminaries are training men also in the Extraordinary Form with adequate training, real training… not just an occasional Mass they get to watch. Furthermore, the Code of Canon Law requires that all seminarians be very well-trained in Latin (can. 249). Is that happening? Universae Ecclesiae reiterated this point. I also know of a document from the Congregation for Catholic Education which requires that there be a Patristic Theology component in the curriculum, not just the occasional reference in history or theology courses.
I think it is great, therefore, when – just as some of us did back in the day – seminarians are learning to row the boat all on their own…

Sub tuum praesidium confugimus, Sancta Dei Genetrix. Nostras deprecationes ne despicias in necessitatibus, sed a periculis cunctis libera nos semper, Virgo gloriosa et benedicta. Amen.
We fly to thy patronage, O holy Mother of God; despise not our petitions in our necessities, but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen.
An ancient prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary, the oldest known version of which is found on an Egyptian papyrus from the 3rd century. This prayer is used in Litanies to the Blessed Mother and as a concluding prayer to Compline. A partial indulgence is granted to the faithful who recite it.
O sacerdos! Tu quis es?
Non es a te, quia de nihilo.
Non es ad te, quia es mediator ad Deum.
Non es tibi, quia soli Deo vivere debes.
Non es tui, quia es omnium servus.
Non es tu, quis alter Christus es.Quid ergo es? Nihil et omnia,
O sacerdos!
O priest! Who art thou?
Thou art not from thyself, because thou art from nothing.
Thou art not to thine own self, because thou art a mediator to God.
Thou art not for thyself, because thou ought to live for God alone.
Thou art not of thyself, because thou are the servant of all.
Thou art not thyself, thou who art another Christ.
What therefore art thou? Nothing and everything,
O priest!
